Key treatment guidelines recommend ZOMETA in patients with advanced breast cancer and bone metastases8,9
A 2007 European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) panel of experts recommended treatment with a nitrogen-containing IV bisphosphonate, such as ZOMETA, for advanced breast cancer patients with bone metastases8
Treatment should continue for up to 2 years even if a patient experiences a bone event
Therapy may continue beyond 2 years based on an individual risk assessment
The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 2011 clinical guidelines support the use of bone-targeted agents, including ZOMETA, in advanced breast cancer until evidence of substantial decline in a patient’s performance status9
